Learning and Development Coordinator



The Learning and Development Coordinator will provide a high level of customer service and administrative and clerical support.

You will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate reporting of training compliance of our staff. You will assist in the booking of cross college CPD opportunities and ensure the smooth running of training events.

The post holder will maintain a highly visible presence across both the curriculum and business support areas and both campuses, encouraging, supporting and leading by example to inspire a sense of responsibility and community in our staff and enhance their overall college experience in support of the college's Vision and Values.


  • To work with the Head of Quality, Human Resources, the Quality team, Advanced Practitioners and staff to develop, coordinate and supervise a programme of cross college CPD.
  • To promote and encourage staff to engage in a variety of continued professional development opportunities.
  • In line with guidance from the Head of Quality monitor the annual programme of CPD and professional updating opportunities in liaison with curriculum staff.
  • To work pro-actively with the human resources team and relevant external providers to develop, promote and implement an inclusive and comprehensive continued professional development programme which are relevant to staff needs.
  • Coordinate the industrial updating of staff engaging with T-level developments, TRIP projects and the Education and Training Foundations professional development programmes.
  • Work closely with the Work Experience Development Officers and the Employer Engagement Team to pursue professional industrial opportunities for curriculum tutors.
  • Using the HR system monitor and report on the professional updating of curriculum tutors as per the policy.
  • Using the HR system, regularly evaluate the continued professional development programme andreport key findings to the Assistant Principal, Head of Quality and the Training and Development Committee.
  • With the support from the Head of Quality regularly review the impact of CPD opportunities to ensure they are developing tutor’s subject expertise.
  • To support the Senior Leadership Team when new opportunities for professional updating arise.
  • To work with Design and Print to develop and produce an exciting CPD brochure and all marketing material.
  • To promote and maintain an effective CPD offer.
  • Ensure all training activities and materials meet with relevant organisational policies.
  • Attend and contribute to the Training and Development Committee.
  • Produce relevant reports which can then be interpreted by the Training and Development Committee, which will result in the production of an annual report.
  • To keep abreast of local and national developments.
  • As guided by the Head of Quality and Human Resources oversee and monitor the college’s staff development budget.
