Dr Jenny Fisher

Jenny is Head of Department, Social Care and Social Work at Manchester Metropolitan University and Professor of Health and Social Care Education. She has over eighteen years’ experience of working in academia at Manchester Metropolitan University, and a previous professional background in community development, urban regeneration and working with local and national government. Her academic research has focused on the experiences of older adults living in marginalised communities. She is experienced in curriculum design, learning and teaching and developing and delivering Health and Social Care Degree Apprenticeships both in Greater Manchester and nationally.

Jenny recognises the importance of further and higher education in transforming lives, families and communities through outstanding facilities, support and student experience.

Jenny’s ambitions for Hopwood Hall College are to ensure that the College continues to deliver excellent education in both digital and classroom spaces and that all students feel cared about, matter and experience a sense of belonging across the two campuses
