Scarlett started college as quiet and shy person and did not like to answer questions in large group situations. Two years later she had become quietly confident through attending placements and listening to her tutors’ advice.
During her studies, Scarlett was part of the successful team that won the Greater Manchester Skills competition – beating every other GM college in the Early years category.
Thanks to her work on placement, Scarlett also secured a job during her studies as an Early Years Practitioner at a local nursery. From this experience gained and the knowledge acquired on her course, Scarlett aims to become a Primary School Teacher after graduating university.
“College taught me a lot of important skills like academic writing and a huge amount about the educational development of children. But it also gave me a lot of life lessons I’ll take with me into my career. I’ll never forget the feeling of making my tutors proud.
”My one piece of advice to any student would be to get your work in early! I managed to finish college a month early because I aimed for every piece of work to be done ahead of time.”
