- Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship
Oliver started out as a waiter before one day being ushered into the kitchen. He completely fell in love with the environment in there – with the buzz and adrenaline of it all making him want to be a chef.
He decided that an apprenticeship was the best way to get there and started training for his Level 2 Commis Chef with Hopwood Hall. This gave him the opportunity to learn from people who had years of experience in the industry and he was quickly able to perfect his amazing flair for food.
Oliver is now working at a Michelin-rated restaurant group, where he’s able to bring his ‘modern creative’ cuisine ideas to life in a fine dining establishment.
Aged 22, he’s already looking ahead to the future and plans to one day open his own restaurant in Greater Manchester.
"My apprenticeship really opened my eyes. I was self-taught before I started and had the opportunity to learn from some amazing people.
“Hopwood’s facilities were top notch – the whole experience really was brilliant.
"Each day was different and gave me the chance to learn something new.“The apprenticeship played a big part in getting me to where I am now. Employers look at my CV and think ‘this guy has done the work’ when they see I was an apprentice”
