- Studying Psychology at the University of Manchester whilst working as a Primary School Teacher
- Access Level 3 in Public Services and Allied Professions
Judith wanted to study to further her career for a long time but wasn’t sure if she could, after speaking with Access tutors at an Open Day she was confident she could.
Having worked in mental health roles previously, she already had an insight into the sector but the types of job roles that interested Judith required Higher Education qualifications. She thought her age would prevent her from returning to education but the Access to Higher Education course is designed to help people get into university and pursue their career goals.
Judith plans to study a Master’s Degree in Psychology, specialising in Forensics, to eventually become a Doctor of Psychology working in prisoner rehabilitation.
“The college Open Day helped me realise I can pursue my career goals, the tutors made me understand the course is more manageable than I believed.
“I’m now moving towards my ideal career, miles ahead of where I was, studying Access has made me realise I am more capable than I ever thought”.
