Georgina Lloyd

  • MSc in Animal Behaviour at Manchester Metropolitan University
  • Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management

Studying at Hopwood Hall College gave Georgina the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals, rather than just learning about them in a classroom environment.

Although Georgina initially studied A-Levels, the knowledge gained in class is always put into physical practice at Hopwood Hall – an element she feels gave her much more knowledge and skills than A-Levels.

After leaving the College with the highest grades possible, Georgina now studies a Master’s degree with the ambitions of one day studying a PhD.

“My course gave me so much experience I couldn’t have got anywhere else. I completed over 1000 hours of work experience, worked with a hugely diverse range of animals and gained experience in variety of places; veterinary practices, a wild bird hospital, kennels and catteries as well as coming in on weekends to help the College’s technicians look after the animals.

“Just get involved with as much as you can; join clubs, meet people who are not on your course, volunteer for projects. Time goes by so quickly, enjoy it as much as possible! Also, get as much work experience as you can whilst you are at college. It all helps.”
