- Studying Fashion Communication at Northumbria University
- Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production
After leaving school, Emily had intended to study A-Levels. However, after meeting tutors at a Hopwood Hall College Open Day, Emily was given a new perspective on the world of media and enrolled at the College.
Whilst studying at Hopwood Hall College, Emily was Team Leader in the student project to create the College’s official promo-video, helped run the student magazine and completed external work experience in Rochdale businesses.
Once she had completed her studies at Hopwood Hall College, Emily deferred a Fashion Communication degree at Northumbria University for a year whilst she built up the experience needed to one day work in the fashion industry.
“Studying a media course at Hopwood Hall College was a big part of my career progression. My tutors were great and gave me a strong set of fundamentals to work with as I work my way up the fashion journalism industry. I particularly enjoyed the work experience opportunities they provide with external clients.
“During my time studying, I learned that it’s important to let people help you and not be too independent. Other people’s opinions definitely helped me develop.”
