- Health Care Assistant at the NHS
- Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship
Having already studied a placement in Health & Social Care, Brooke wanted to further her development by studying an apprenticeship.
Brooke’s Health Care Assistant apprenticeship taught her the fundamental skills needed to work in an organisation as big as the NHS and in a role with such large responsibilities.
Through hard work and application, Brooke eventually earned a full-time role at the NHS. She now cares for many patients that come into Rochdale Infirmary, encourages personal care and assist trained nurses in their work.
“I really enjoyed my apprenticeship, it was a great way to learn in the workplace and the work was varied which kept it interesting. I once took over the activity coordinator responsibilities for a week, I loved working with the patients and built some great relationships.
“You’ve got to make sure you but lots of effort into both the theory and practical sides of an apprenticeship. The challenges I encountered made me stronger and gave me chance to develop and learn from my mistakes.”
