HNC MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Course summary This course is aimed at people working in a production, design, technical or supervisory capacity within the engineering industry who wish to gain higher qualifications. The course is also suitable for those who do not currently work within the industry who wish to further their studies whilst working elsewhere. Course content Compulsory units: • Analytical Methods for Engineers • Engineering Science • Engineering Project Specialist units: • Mechanical Principles • Dynamics of Machines • Fluid Mechanics • Management of Projects • Engineering Design Location: Middleton campus Duration: 2 years part-time Start date: September 2023 Fees: £3000 per year (Total course cost £6000 2 years part-time) Entry requirements: 80 UCAS tariff points which could include: BTEC National Certificate Diploma in an engineering subject or an appropriate combination of the following: AVCE/GNVQ in a relevant vocational area GCSE A level profile which demonstrates strong performance in maths/physics subjects Relevant level 3 qualification GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
