Get career-ready with T-Levels T-Levels continue to transform post-16 education. Since launching these cutting-edge qualifications in 2021, Hopwood Hall College has been giving school leavers the opportunity to combine classroom learning with industry experience. Developed in collaboration with top employers, T-Levels deliver the skills, knowledge and industry insight that students need to hit the ground running in their chosen career. T-Levels Please note that all details are correct at time of printing. 15

What is a T-Level? T-Levels are a game-changing alternative to A-Levels, designed for 16 to 19-year-olds who want to focus on career-focused, hands-on learning. Combining classroom study with real-world industry experience, they’re ideal if you’ve just finished your GCSEs and want a practical route that still delivers powerful progression opportunities. Unlike more traditional academic routes, T-Levels are developed in close collaboration with employers and industry experts. That means everything you’ll learn is relevant, up to date and aligned with the skills the UK economy needs - setting you up for success from day one. Each T-Level blends technical knowledge, practical training and core skills like maths, English and digital literacy. You’ll also complete a highquality industry placement lasting at least 45 days, giving you a real taste of the workplace and a serious head start when it comes to your future career. T-Levels are Level 3 qualifications (equivalent to three A-Levels) and are recognised by universities, employers and apprenticeship providers. So whether you’re aiming for university, a higher apprenticeship or going straight into work, a T-Level keeps every door open. T-Level components include: • Employability skills • Numeracy • Literacy and digital skills • Concepts and theories • Occupational specialisms At Hopwood Hall College, industry placements are a vital part of every T-Level. They give you the chance to apply what you’ve learned in a real role, build your confidence, and connect with professionals who are shaping the future of your chosen sector. Your placement will total at least 315 hours (around 45 days) and could take place as a block or as individual days throughout the year. You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on placement, striking the perfect balance between learning and working. 16

UCAS T-Level Tariff points overall grade 168 Distinction* 144 Distinction 120 Merit 96 Pass (C or above on the core) 72 Pass (D or E on the core) What is a T-Level worth? T-Levels carry UCAS points just like A levels. For example, achieving a Distinction* in your T-Level is equivalent to getting three A*s at A level. This means your T-Level can open doors to university, higher technical training, or skilled employment. Will universities accept students who have T-Levels? Yes – many universities, including our own University Centre, recognise T-Levels as a valid route into higher education. After completing your T-Level, you could go on to study a wide range of degree programmes. Alternatively, you might choose a Higher Apprenticeship or enter the world of work straight away – it’s up to you. 20

I feel so proud of myself – studying a T-Level is a big achievement! The other students in the class are so welcoming and the tutors really recognise you as an individual. Ludnela Andrade, T-Level Design, Surveying & Planning Ben Hamlin Studied: T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction School: St Anne’s Academy Now: Building Services degree apprentice at BES Ltd “I really enjoyed my time at Hopwood. Is a T-Level right for you? A T-Level could be the perfect next step if you’re moving on from GCSEs and want a qualification that’s directly linked to your future career. T-Levels are designed for people who enjoy hands-on learning and are ready to start building real industry skills. They combine classroom study with practical experience, giving you the knowledge and confidence to take your next steps into work, an apprenticeship or further study. If you’re ready to commit to a programme that prepares you for the world of work and boosts your employability, a T-Level might be the right choice for you. T-Levels are really exciting! I made some great new friends along the way and the tutors were all so supportive. ‘‘The best part was that the course is so varied. The practical elements mean that you’re rarely sat down – you’re always on the go!’’ Imogen Tudor, T-Level Supporting Adult Nursing 22

T-Levels T-Level Foundation Year The T-Level Foundation Year has been specially developed to get you where you want to be, opening you up to new possibilities and unlocking your route to T-Level success A stepping stone to your T-Level If you haven’t quite achieved the grades for your preferred T-Level pathway, the Foundation Year could be the perfect starting point. It’s designed for students who are keen to do a T-Level but aren’t quite ready just yet. How it works You won’t apply directly for a Foundation Year course. Instead, you’ll apply for your chosen T-Level route, and if your GCSE results show that you’re not quite at the entry point, you’ll begin with the Foundation Year before progressing to the two-year T-Level programme. For students who meet the entry requirements, the T-Level is a two-year journey. For those starting with the Foundation Year, it becomes a three-year pathway in total. Available across all routes The T-Level Foundation Year is available across all T-Level routes at Hopwood Hall College, giving you the flexibility to find a path that suits your ambitions. What you’ll study The programme includes: · English and Maths (if you haven’t yet achieved the required grade) · Industry-relevant work experience · A tailored curriculum to help you build confidence and develop the skills you’ll need to succeed on your chosen T-Level Your journey starts here When you apply, we’ll assess whether you’re ready to start the full T-Level straight away. If so, we’ll let you know, and you can decide the best starting point for your exciting career ahead. 23
