Free football for teens
Teenagers in Middleton have been taking advantage of free football sessions on the 3G pitches at Hopwood Hall College’s Sports Arena on Thursday afternoons this term but soon even more young people will be able to benefit.

Thirty Hopwood Hall College staff took part in the Bupa Manchester 10k run to raise money for their chosen charity, Springhill Hospice.

Building bridges – construction students get site
Hopwood Hall College has been working in partnership with Carillion Construction to offer students work experience. Two groups of students, who are studying carpentry and joinery at the College, have been learning all about what it is like to work on site as well as what goes on behind the scenes of construction projects.

Move over Prime Minister!
College runs ‘Principal’s Question Time’ for students
Students got the chance to meet with senior management at Hopwood Hall College’s annual ‘Learner Voice Conference.’ The conference is designed to allow students to showcase the work they have done throughout the year and share thoughts about education and College issues, as well as listen to speakers from organisations such as Greater Manchester Police and Rochdale Foodbank and interview the College Principal in a special ‘Principal’s Question Time.’

Students help launch Rochdale pop-up shop
Hopwood Hall College has teamed up with vInspired, the charity inspiring young people to volunteer and the Retail Trust, in their bid to offer young people in Rochdale the opportunity to open a pop-up shop in Rochdale, as part of the Retail Ready People scheme.

Sudent is the fastest ever at Sports Olympiad
Hopwood Hall College’s Uniformed Public Services (UPS) department recently held its annual Sports Olympiad and 17 year old Oldham lad, Matthew Shaughnessy, completed the cross country race in the fastest time ever recorded at the College event over the last five years.
