Sascha studied Sport at Hopwood Hall because of his love for swimming and desire to achieve his dreams.

Since leaving the college, Sascha has gone on to become one of Great Britain’s most successful Paralympic athletes, representing his country in no fewer than four Paralympic Games. During this time, Sascha has won a staggering six Paralympic, five World and eight European Championship Gold medals and has broken multiple Swimming world records along the way.

Sascha’s achievements were recognised in 2009 when he received an OBE for his services to disability sport. In addition to the inspiring motivational speeches he currently gives, Sascha plans to coach younger swimmers when he retires. He has already gained the necessary certificates to ensure that he remains in the sport to which he has dedicated his life.

Sascha says:

“The excellent curriculum at Hopwood Hall College helped me to develop an understanding of several key subject areas such as anatomy, coaching and statistics that have since aided me in a successful international swimming career. I enjoyed every moment of my time there and will never forget the experienced staff, friendly students and fantastic facilities that helped me along my way.”
